Diagnosis at I D Cancer Center
Precise diagnosis helps in planning the most effective treatment.
We provide:
MRI Brain and Spine (standard for medulloblastoma evaluation)
CT scan (emergency assessment)
Lumbar puncture to check for CSF spread
Neurosurgical biopsy or tumor removal for confirmation
Molecular Subtyping: WNT, SHH, Group 3, Group 4 — important for prognosis
PET-CT (selected cases)
Our team collaborates with expert neurosurgeons for accurate surgical evaluation and safe tissue diagnosis.

Treatment Options
Treatment is tailored based on age, risk category, tumor spread, and molecular subtype.
Treatment is tailored based on age, risk category, tumor spread, and molecular subtype.
1. Surgery
The first step in treatment usually involves removing as much of the tumor as safely possible.
Complete or near-complete removal improves outcomes
Performed by pediatric neurosurgeons

2. Radiation Therapy
Craniospinal Irradiation (CSI) using IMRT/VMAT
Boost to tumor bed using IGRT
Highly precise planning to protect the heart, lungs, thyroid, and healthy brain tissue
Modern techniques ensure maximum tumor control with minimum side effects.
3. Chemotherapy
Essential in both standard-risk and high-risk medulloblastoma:
Helps kill remaining cancer cells
Reduces risk of recurrence
Administered in child-friendly daycare settings
